DAY 33

The end of 2010.

And we are having a spring day.

Are you preparing and planning for the new year? Ready or not it is coming. At midnight, the calendars change to 2011.

And so it the coming of the Lord, ready or not, HE will come at the appointed time.

Are you ready?

Watch and pray.

Mark 13:31-37

31Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

32But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

33Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.

34For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.

35Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

36Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.

37And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

DAY 32

A peaceful quiet morning.

Peace. The world clamors for it, rather unpeaceably I might add. We have wars for peace, angry demonstrations for peace, and of course, beauty contestants always want world peace.

So what is peace? Dictionary says it's freedom from war, tranquility, and mental calm.

I would add that it is the freedom from fear.

There is only One who can give us that freedom. that is Jesus who overcame the world.

John 14:27

27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Watching Band of Brothers, there was one soldier who was brave beyond belief, and he made a statement that stuck with me. He explained to another soldier that the trick was to understand that 'you're already dead.'

As Christians, we are by definition already dead and our lives hidden in Christ. and we have life eternal. A dead man fears nothing. Not to mention we have the Lion of Judah to back us up.

Live freely, backing down from nothing or no one, and go forward into the new year knowing that there is only life in front of you. Death has lost, Christ has won, and we are free to live in peace.

DAY 31

Morning with clouds and warm temps. Not bad for the end of the year.

So yesterday I went on my adventure to seek the Lord. Found Him in a good friend. We have a friendship that was formed by a God connection. What a blessing. Lunch and a movie.

We saw the The Dawn Trader. The movie of another of C S Lewis' Books. IT was good. What an adventure, and it had powerful ideas and truths to convey to children of all ages. I enjoyed it.

After the movie, my friend and I prayed for anyone who entered that theater that they would get the message and seek out just who Aslan was portraying.

I found that I am surrounded by the Great I AM if I but open my eyes and see. His glory does fill the earth.

Psalm 72:19
And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

Well, I am off on another day of adventure with my Lord.

Tuesday, December 28, 2010

DAY 30

Finally I am back on track. Sort of.

This isn't a picture of the day. but I liked it.

Today is a rainy day.
Matches my spiritual mood. I've grown complacent again.

Yet, as I write this I hear the Spirit say - "Seek Me."

He has not left me. Rather He is showing me that He desires to be known by us, but it must be fresh each day. Too easily I slip into automatic pilot and miss what it is I am trying to do. So, I am off to seek the Lord. See what treasures He has to show me.

AND I rejoice, Because HE IS.

DAY 29

Celebrate the Lord has come.

Jesus - He was, is , and is to come.

Love that.

Rejoice that He has come

Watch for He is coming again!

Monday, December 27, 2010

DAY 28

Puzzles, I love to do them but only during the Christmas holidays.

Jesus is the answer to the puzzle, the mystery that God hid, although He gave His prophets clues to the Promise scattered throughout the Old Testament.

Beginning after Adam and Eve took matters into their own hands, God said that her seed would bruise the serpents head. the only seed of a woman since time is Jesus. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Here's a website that lists some of them

check them out.
NO one other than Jesus has fulfilled all these.

CHRISTMAS

DAY 26

Christmas Eve.
People everywhere are rushing about, readying for the big day. So too it must have been two thousand years ago. The decree to take a census had gone out, and everyone was to go to their own town to register. The Inn was full, people were no doubt scattered throughout the town.

Can you hear the animals, mooing, neighing, braying, and not really sure what camels do besides spit. The people. Parents hollering at their kids to stay near and not get lost. Those selling goods to the many travelers.

And then night comes, silence settles over the land.

Did they feel it? Sense that all would change by morning? Were they looking for the Savior?

Then shepherds, watching their flocks in the quiet of the night. When suddenly an angel of the Lord
appeared to them. They were terrified. But the angel said to them

Luke 2:1--15"10... Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

This Holy night, let your heart be silent and listen.
See if your spirit doesn't join the angelic choir and shout Glory to God in the highest. Praising the Lord and telling others the good news.

Thursday, December 23, 2010

DAY 25

Receiving and giving part 2.

Next would be Simeon, a righteous and devout man, who was waiting for the Messiah. When Jesus was presented to him, Simeon praised God saying
...my eyes have seen Your salvation, which You have prepared in the sight of all people, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and for the glory to Your people Israel.

Then Anna, the prophetess. She never left the temple but worhsipped night and day, fasting and praying. When she saw the baby Jesus, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Israel.

The Magi visit from Persia, by studying the stars they saw a sign. Possibly because of Daniel and his friends taken into captivity they knew that a King of Israel would be born. They make a long journey to worship Jesus, and give Him gifts of Gold, Frankincense, and Myrrh.

All of these set aside their lives, making room for the King of Kings in their hearts. They received the Lord and then told others.

One notable person did not receive the Lord, Herod. He acknowledged the threat to his worldly goods and power and ordered baby boys below the age of two to be killed. To not receive Jesus results in death.

Receive the Lord in your hearts, and when He has made His Presence known, then give to those around you the most precious gift. The reason for all seasons, the Life and Truth -- Jesus, the Son of God in the flesh.

This morning we had a blanket of clouds. A wintry morning. But I know the sun is there. You could say I have faith it is there.

And when troubles shadow our lives, we can know behind that darkness, that cloud of troubles, Jesus is still there, He knows us and promised He'd never leave us.

Rejoice that our Savior has come and is coming again.

Watch and pray.

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

DAY 24

How is your Christmas receiving going?

I know, it's supposed to be the season of giving, but really?

Mary was the first to receive what the Lord had planned for her and the Holy Spirit overshadowed her and she, a virgin, was with child. Sometimes it cost to receive from Him.

Joseph would be next. He had to take a pregnant woman as his wife instead of putting her away.
Sometimes it cost to receive Him.

When Jesus was born the first responders were the shepherds. Angels told them a savior had been born in Bethlehem. and a sign for them they would find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes lying in a manger.

The shepherds made haste and left their flocks and went to to see. They were not disappointed. They received what the angels had told them. So much so that they went out and told others what they had seen and been told. And the shepherds returned glorifying and praising God.

More tomorrow.

Father, open my heart and clean it out so that it is fit for the King of Kings. This season of receiving, let me receive the joy of salvation. And then let me tell others what good things I have received from You.

Yes, this is the season of receiving and giving. But first you must receive.

Tuesday, December 21, 2010

DAY23

The first day of winter. Looks like winter in the picture I took this morning. But it's 66 degrees outside. Things aren't always as they appear.

Two thousand years ago, the Jews were looking for the Messiah, surely coming as a King-- they thought. And they missed the baby born of a virgin.

Isaiah 7:13-15

14Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Jesus fulfilled more than 300 prophecies. Yet, people reasoned away the truth before them and chose the lie.

In this crazy world we live in, determine to seek the Truth, the Way and the Life. Don't settle for what is reasonable, sounds good, or is comfortable.

Instead, listen to the still small voice, look with the eyes of your heart, and seek the King of Kings who came as a baby to bring peace between God and whosoever would believe that Jesus is the Messiah.

Two thousand years ago, the shepherds were told and believed, Wise men saw the sign in the stars and left what they were doing to seek the King of Kings. And they found Him.

Seek Him with all your heart, mind, and strength. HE is near.

Hymn
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
1.Hark the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King;
Peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!"
Joyful, all ye nations, rise, Join the triumph of the skies;
With the angelic host proclaim, "Christ is born in Bethlehem!"
Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory! to the newborn King!"

Monday, December 20, 2010

DAY 22

Today I slept later than I wanted. But maybe did what I needed. Even the dog was still sleeping. Went outside and took a few pictures, then came back into my office and went in my "God spot" My little special place where I meet with the Lord.

I sat down to write in my journal and ended up writing all the names of God I could think of. Praising Him. I decided I would try and write without using the pronoun I.

Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords, King of Kings, Creator, First born from the dead, Redeemer, Lion of Judah, I AM, Counselor, Helper, Healer, Provider, Salvation, Alpha and Omega, The Lamb of God, The Way, Truth, and the Life, Light, Morning Star, Fortress, Deliverer, The Life and the Resurrection, Bread of Life, One True God, Name above all names, Sinless Lamb, Worthy of all praise...

And HE was born in a manger.

JESUS, the reason for all seasons.

Exalt Him. Praise Him, Glorify Him,

Sunday, December 19, 2010

DAY 21

Last night, I anticipated this morning with great joy. Not for what I would see or receive. But what I could give to my God, to worship Him, Exalt Him as the One True God.

At first singing, and then praising Him in spirit and mind.

Then the urging by the Holy Spirit to be silent. Sounds easy, but my mind buzzed with praising Him, looking at the sunrise, whirring with all that is around me and that is my life.

Quiet, enter the quiet place. Not so easy to do. I tiptoed around the silence. Entering in and jumping back. Clearly, this is a discipline that needs to be learned and practiced. A fine tuning of my spirit with His Holy Spirit.

Psalm 62 (NASB)
1My soul waits in silence for God only;
From Him is my salvation.
2He only is my rock and my salvation,...
5My soul, wait in silence for God only,
For my hope is from Him.
6He only is my rock and my salvation,
My stronghold; I shall not be shaken.
7On God my salvation and my glory rest;
The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
8Trust in Him at all times, O people;
Pour out your heart before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Father in Heaven, I ask for hearing ears. Let me come before You with Thanksgiving and Praise and then let me Hear Your Words.

DAY 20

From Audio English.net -- The noun FAMILIARITY has 5 senses:

1. personal knowledge or information about someone or something
2. usualness by virtue of being familiar or well known
3. close or warm friendship
4. a casual manner
5. an act of undue intimacy

I awoke this morning, took a peek at the sky, and decided the morning held nothing spectacular enough for me to get up early. After all, morning runs until noon. As I was thinking that way, I was prodded by the Holy Spirit that God is never boring.

What might I be missing?

As soon as I thought the question, I heard thousands of birds. I got up and ran to the kitchen where my husband said "You should have been here a few minutes ago."

I missed it. We went outside and I could see the tail end of a swarm of birds that would have made it into Alfred Hitchcock's movie. To top that off their was a slight fog over the horizon that the sun was swiftly burning away. Missed that too.

I wondered if this is how Adam and Eve fell for the you can eat from that tree trick. Boredom. Too familiar with a God that can never be fully known by us. Taking God too casually, thinking it is only a warm friendship with Him instead of life. Thinking we can be intimate with Him in our casual friendship forgetting that our very life and being is hidden in Christ.

Colossians 3:3 3For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

AS I write this, I confess before the Lord and ask forgiveness for my familiar attitude with Him. He's not my friendly uncle, sugar daddy, or rich father. HE is my God. And that not by my doing, but by His mercy and grace that He loves me even when I am not lovable or worthy.

Father in Heaven, help me not take you for granted. Forgive me when I do. Help me to remember You are Holy and worthy of all praise and honor. And remind me to be quiet and listen for You, to meditate on Your Word knowing that Your Word is life to me. To Seek you with all my heart, mind, and strength and soul. For You are the most precious pearl, my reason for being, and worthy of all my attention and praise.

Hallelujah to the Living God!

DAY 17, 18, 19

Thank you Barnes and Noble for the use of your
Internet. Hooray for technology, especially when it
works.

Day 17 is the big oak basking in the light of day.
so too is it time to soak in the Lord's presence.

Romans 11-12

11And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

12The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Day 18
A bright and rising sun.

Psalm 37:4

4Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

I love that verse -- funny I mistyped and first put in -i live this verse, Hmm Maybe their is also truth is in what I first wrote. God's word is to be loved and meditated on AND lived.

Today and what a beautiful array for clouds. Thank You, Lord for this day. For it is from You and a declaration that Your Mercy is new. There is still time for souls to be gathered into Your Eternal Light and Life.

Father show us Your way and give us Your words to shatter the darkness that entraps so many.

Your words are light and life to a darkening world.

To You be the Glory forever and ever.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

DAY 16

: ) No, it's not the burning bush.

I liked the fiery sunlight coming through the branches of the crepe myrtle. Even looks like fire.
I think the Lord is like that. When He burns brightest in me, His glory hides me.

Deuteronomy 4:24
For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God

Father, take me and mold me. Create a clean heart in me so that I am more You than me. And let me burn with Your light so that I can lead others to You.

Hallelujah!!! God is good all the Time!

Monday, December 13, 2010

DAY 15

Another beautiful day. Cold and crisp as Autumn is ending and Winter gearing up. I like this picture, I am sure in Photography 101 this would be a dud, but the little red globs look cool to me. Almost like a series of fingerprints.

I think the Lord does that with us. He made us all different and unique expressions of His love. What some might think as a mess, just might be some of His greatest works.

Who would think the youngest son watching sheep would be Israel's greatest king? Who would think God would choose a harlot to save His spies? Who would think God would choose to become one of us and be born in a stable?

Rejoice in God's handiwork. Don't judge harshly on the external, but instead seek the Heart of God and see what is on His mind, what is His plan.

He just might like pictures with red globs. : )

DAY 14

This was Sunday Morning. Would have blogged yesterday but my Internet decided to stop working. So I am Barnes and Noble using their WiFi.

Haha. What the enemy meant for evil, God is working to my good and pleasure. How wonderful to have an excuse to go the bookstore and write!

James 1 2My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

How good is our God that He is always for us. Working all things for our good, strengthening our faith and character. So that we know we can trust Him.

It seems to me that the trials in life point to our need to trust Him. HE is worthy.
Whatever you are going through these days, look to Him, the Truth, the Way, and the Life. He is trustworthy.

Saturday, December 11, 2010

DAY 13

Aha! I have evidence the sun has risen!

Makes me wonder, can others see evidence of the
Risen Son by looking at me?

Isaiah 42:6
“I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles

Take courage for it is the Lord that makes the light, HE is the light. Don't be caught up thinking you have to make the light.

Instead, meditate on the Lord, listen for His instruction, and do what He would have you do. Sometimes, just in your peace or smile, people will see His reflection in you.

Ephesians 5:8-9

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)

Friday, December 10, 2010

DAY 12

Matthew 11:30
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

My shoulders have been sore, don't know why. Surely not from heavy lifting. Through the night I could hear in my spirit -- Hallelujah! Over and over

And then the Lord impressed on me that I needed to raise my arms in praise. SO I did this morning and they do feel better.

How many burdens weigh us down needlessly? The answer is to throw them up to the Lord.
Jesus promises that His burden is light, his yoke easy.

The world is another story. Pressures come from all directions with no relief in sight. Religion, as defined by the Pharisees as a never ending list of do's and don'ts, only adds to the burden.

Seek the Lord and listen in the quiet to see what He would have you do. Give your burdens over to Him. Raise your arms and voice in Praise, letting the burdens of life slip from your shoulders. We were never meant to live this life on our own. God designed us to need Him.

Hymn
What a Friend We Have in Jesus
1. What a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear;
What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer!
Oh what peace we often forfeit, Oh what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!

Go into the day, praising the
Great I AM. Knowing that He
is for you and will never leave you.

Taking your burdens to Him and
leaving them there.

And Rejoice that our God lives!
He hears us, cares for us, and loves us.
Forever!!!

Thursday, December 9, 2010

DAY 11

Psalm 130:5
I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

I admit, I didn't get up at sunrise, but I did awake. While my spirit rejoiced, my flesh was a slug, probably from the allergy meds last night.

But I did get up and the sun did too.

There are days when our hope is sluggish too. The troubles and pains of this world can appear to blot out the hope we have in Christ. That's when we need to go to the Word, the truth, and encourage ourselves in the Lord. His Word is true. He does love us, and He promised to never leave us.

Put your trust in the Lord and the Hope that He has given us. He is coming again, There is eternal life for whosever believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

Let your hope rise in your heart, shining His light on whatever troubles surround you. Jesus promised to never leave or forsake us. You can count on that!
Banks may fail, doctors give bad reports, governments change and businesses fall, but our God is an ever present help.

Hymn
Awake, My Soul, to Joyful Lays
5. When trouble, like a gloomy cloud,
has gathered thick and thundered loud
He near my soul has always stood
His loving-kindness, oh, how good!

Go rejoicing into the day, confident that He is with you and will never leave you.

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

DAY 10

Yesterday at sunset. I love the warm light on the trees against the backdrop of clouds. I love clouds.

My son and husband just shake their heads at my pictures because they are filled with clouds.

Oh well. It's a good thing I like clouds because this morning, it is cloudy.

Pretty clouds though. Soft gray infused with a hint of pink. They're not storm clouds, more of a heavenly blanket.

Psalm 36:5
Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Even though I couldn't see the sun, I knew it was there. So too is our faith, when troubles cloud our vision, we can reach beyond what we see and know that HE is there.

Hymn
Our God, Our Help in Ages Past
1. Our God, our Help in ages past, Our Hope for years to come,
Our Shelter from the stormy blast, And our eternal Home!

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

DAY 9

A cold, quiet, morning. No wind. And 32 degrees. What did I find? Frost! Have to admit, this morning I didn't open my eyes and rush outside. But after a few moments, I got up to see what I would see and listen for the Lord.

Always liked in Genesis where it says in Genesis 3:8
And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day...

Unfortunately, the rest of the verse is where Adam and Eve hid from God because they'd just sinned. And so goes the rest of us.

But God wasn't finished with them, or us. His mercy is new every morning. Would it have been different if Adam and Eve and had thrown themselves on God's mercy, confessing what they had done, instead of pointing fingers?

I love the little crystals of ice forming on the plants, seeming to form out of nothing. You can't beat God's handiwork.

TO the west, clouds and trees catch light from the rising sun.
The rich glow looks so warm and cheery. Creation rejoicing a new day has begun. A day closer to its deliverance from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. Romans 8:18-25 (King James Version)

18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 24For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

Hymn
Joy to the World
1.Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare Him
room, And heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing And heaven and heaven and nature sing.

Go singing into the world. Proclaiming the Lord is come and coming.

Monday, December 6, 2010

DAY 8

Wow! What a way to start the day. Dawns blush at God's good morning kiss. His mercy, new this morning for all those to do's not marked off yesterday. For all those things said and unsaid, done and not done.

He breathes His Presence upon all who accept and believe. And the Dawn marks His Love note saying My mercy is new. Signed I AM

Rejoice you people of the earth, Rejoice along with Creation for the King is Coming.

Psalm 8 : 1 O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!

Hymn
Songs of Praise the Angels Sang
1. Songs of praise the angels sang, Heav'n with alleluias rang,
When creation was begun, When God spake and it was done.
5. Saints below, with heart and voice,
Still in songs of praise rejoice;
Learning here, by faith and love,
Songs of praise to sing above.

Sunday, December 5, 2010

DAY 7

I awake before the alarm, consider going back to sleep, but my heart beats with its own alarm and I hear in my soul Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah!

Over and over and over, my soul delights in the Lord. I can't resist, so with joy I get up grab the Iphone, and go outside.

Cold, a north wind bringing us its wintry blast.
The clouds even look icy.

Every day is new in the Lord. And I rejoice to see His handiwork. To walk in the path He has laid out for me even before the founding of the earth

Hymn
From All that Dwell Below the Skies
1. From all that dwell below the skies
Let the Creator's praise arise;
Alleluia! Alleluia! Let the Redeemer's name be sung
Thro' every land by every tongue
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia! Alleluia!

Ephesians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Praise Him today, and all days. For He is worthy of all praise.
Rejoice and again I say rejoice.

Saturday, December 4, 2010

DAY 6

My front yard. Morning 6, a quiet Saturday.
Birds calling, chirping, tweeting. Cool air gently
lapping against my face. And the quiet stillness of
my spirit within me. Waiting, listening, expecting
the Presence of my Lord.

And in minutes, my heart calls out his name,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Then my God lives,
my God lives, my God lives!

A new day, new mercy, God's love shining upon us, His forgiveness reigning, Eternal life promised to all who believe.

In my Father-in-law's often spoken words--"It doesn't get any better than this."

Hymn
Lord Jesus Christ, Be Present Now
1. Lord Jesus Christ, be present now,
Our hearts in true devotion bow,
Thy Spirit send with grace divine,
And let thy truth within us shine.

Psalm 16:11
Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy;
at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Amen and again I say Amen!

Friday, December 3, 2010

DAY 5

Add a few clouds to the morning skies and the Lord uses them to paint the dawn. Truly what a beautiful day.

Ah, Lord. You've given me another morning. Help me use this time to know You better, to show You better to others, to worship You better.

I love You, Lord. My heart is full of joy for Your presence.

Reflections of the sunrise over the pond. And how I want to be a reflection of the Savior. Let Your light shine in me, Lord.

EPH 5:8 For you were once darkness,
but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light.

Hymn
Hark, A Thrilling Voice is Sounding
1. Hark, a thrilling voice is sounding! "Christ is nigh!" we hear it say;
"Cast away the works of darkness, O ye children of the day!"

__
Hallelujah for the time is coming. Walk as children of the day, singing and praising the Everlasting God. Preparing the way for Him in your hearts. Seeking Him with all your heart, mind and soul. Go into the day and shine!

Thursday, December 2, 2010

DAY 4

Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!

From out of my heart I shout His Praise. I love to shout Hallelujah! One day, on my road trip back from California, I started shouting Hallelujah! It was as if my soul were singing with all creation of the Glory of God. Try it sometime. In your car, at home, or your front yard, if you need a jolt of joy shout Hallelujah with all that is in you.
His Word says that He inhabits the praise of His people.

Today, if you noticed, my sunrise was from a different place. I decided I would get bored looking at the same one. So I got my trusty dog, Jacs, and drove around the corner where I thought the view might be less restricted. Jacs barked and I shouted Hallelujah, and I am sure people driving by thought we were crazy. Yeah, crazy in love with my Savior. : )

Psalm 30:4 Sing the praises of the LORD, you his faithful people; praise his holy name.

I hope you have a joyous day today. Go forth and sing His Praises!

Hymn The Advent of our King

1.The advent of our King Our prayers must now employ,
And we must hymns of welcome sing In strains of holy joy.

6. All glory to the Son, Who comes to set us free,
With Father, spirit, ever One, through all eternity.

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Day 3

Psalm 5:3
My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

You set the sun in the heavens as a sign to us. To remind us of Your Son. To remind us that You are here, that You hear our prayers.

This morning I eagerly awaited the moment. Cold, 36 degrees and not a bird in sight, but as I waited, the sky to the east burned with the announcement that the sun was coming. Should I also be burning inside with the knowledge that my Lord is returning soon? Glowing so that those groping in darkness see the hope of Glory?

See the glow of sunrise. As the earth receives light from the sun that which was muted in darkness shines. So should we who know the Lord.

Father in Heaven, I want to glow and burn inside with Your love and glory so that those groping in darkness see Your light. Help me grow closer to You.

Hymn
O Day of Rest and Gladness
Today on weary nations
The heavenly manna falls;
To holy convocations
The silver trumpet calls,
Where Gospel-light is glowing
With pure and radiant beams
And living water flowing
With soul-refreshing streams.

DAY 2

Oh what a beautiful morning... Love that song. Brrr, a cold crisp 38 degrees this morning. No birds singing at dawn this morning. Guess they were huddled in their downy feathers waiting for the sun to bring some warmth.

I did notice how the sky heralded the coming sun with gold. So shall the glory of the Lord precede Him when he returns. The glory of the Lord fills the earth. Look and see.

No clouds this morning to block the view of the sun this morning. Made me wonder what clouds in my soul and spirit block the view of the Son for me. Yuch, got a few playbacks of wrong-way thinking and actions. Praise the Lord that His mercy is new every morning.

Lord, forgive me for the areas in my life that are not pleasing to You. I ask for wisdom to check out my thoughts, words, and actions with Your Spirit that You placed in me as a seal. Praise the Lord for the Helper, Counselor, Teacher. Thank You for The Holy Spirit.

Arise, Sons of the Kingdom Hymn
Arise, sons of the Kingdom!
The King is drawing nigh
Arise and hail with gladness
The Ruler from on high.

Psalm 143:8
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

DAY 1

11-29-2010 Day 1
The morning star. Bright before dawn, but diminishing before the coming sun. Reminded me of John the Baptist whose light also gave way to the Son of God. And that is what I want to do. Prepare my heart for the coming of the Lord. To commune with Him. The Creator from whom all things were made.
John 1:1-3

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Dawn - officially at 6:44 Am. I noticed at the moment Dawn's blush graced the sky, birds sang out. But only for a few moments and then their song was sporadic. Were they heralding the new day? Reminding Creation that He is coming again?

Rays from the west. Surprised me. don't know why they are there. But perhaps it's nights homage to the coming sun.

Sunrise. Officially 7:16 AM. God's mercy is new every morning.
Not as spectacular as the Dawn, but the day is here. God's promises are waiting for us to act upon them. To carry out the sweet whispers in our ear and soul. The Master's commands for the day. Rejoice for this is the day the Lord has made.

I go rejoicing into the new day.

My Inmost Heart Now Raises
My Inmost Heart Now Raises
In this fair morning hour
A song of thankful praises
To Thine almighty pow'r
O God upon Thy throne
to honor and adore Thee
I bring my praise before Thee
Thro' Christ Thine only Son

In the Beginning ...

What and Why? Today, Sunday Nov. 28, 2010
I was pondering what to do, watching the Ultimate Gift on Hallmark, disappointed they didn't tell the Ultimate Gift is Jesus. God's own Son --And the inspiration came--100 Mornings with the Son.

Now I am not an early riser. But I can do this. Want to. Jesus is coming soon and I want to be ready. Want to count myself with one of the wise virgins who were ready for the coming of the bridegroom.

Goal - get up before sunrise, take a picture of the morning sun, and meditate on the Word of God. To have communion with my Lord, get my instructions for the day, and prepare for the return of Jesus The Messiah.

Get Ready.

Tomorrow - Dawn is at 6:44 and sunrise at 7:16 AM

I'll be there.
