Rejoice

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Rejoice.
When the enemy comes with his lies of gloom and disaster,
raise your shield of faith and your sword of the Spirit.

Find a verse that speaks to your heart.
Memorize it and ponder it throughout the day.

For God's word is truth.
He does not lie.

Rejoice and overcome!

Truth

Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

God's truth continually preserves me.

Psalm 91:4
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

His truth is my shield and buckler.

See that!

How easily we pick a bit of info from the internet, a friend, the news and hold onto it like we know it is true. And it may be true, but it is only the word of man.

How much more the Word of God. Scripture is truth. We can believe the Word of God.

Grab hold of a scripture that speaks to your heart today.
Write it down, memorize it, chew on it throughout the day and believe it.

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord; for the Lord is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.

What excitement awaits us this day?
Look past the circumstances and worries that desire to bring you down and look up.
God is alive. Jesus who was dead yet lives for evermore.
Our hope is in Him.

Not in a man, or 401K, or the Dr

Our Hope is in the name of the Lord.
While God may use the above, He is the one in Control
And He is where our help comes from.

So today, Set your sights higher.
Shake off the rumblings and discontent of the enemy
And raise your hands in praise

For the Lord is good.

Watch them Apples.

Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Throughout the day, what fruit are you sharing?

Have you eaten from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil or the Tree of Life?

Recently, I realized I have eaten from the Tree of knowledge of good and evil and shared the poison fruit to others. Yikes. That is not a good thing.

How easy it is to be right. Solid logic, pointing out where others have erred, and yet be so wrong.

I heard Miss Kitty on the old show Gunsmoke say - "Well, Matt, people are what they are." So profound.

Are we to rail at a vessel of earthen clay - being what they are? Not that we aren't to proclaim truth. But that truth is to bring life.

Pharaoh was as much a vessel as Moses. Both made by God, both with a destiny. Both had to make a choice.

Moses proclaimed the awesome power of God and, along with his brother Aaron, was God's spokesman.  He didn't go after Pharaoh on tabletbook ( tb instead of fb now) In fact the one thing Moses did do in the flesh was to kill an Egyptian and that sent Moses into the wilderness for 40 years.

Like the proverbs above - we are to proclaim the Tree of Life. The Good News that - no, you don't have to be perfect in fact you can't be perfect. But One has come, Jesus, who was and is perfect, who laid His own life down, that we who are imperfect and believe on Him might take up His Righteousness and walk in the assurance of eternal life. Proclaim Life.

So what if you're right and they are ignorant. So what if they are walking in the flesh and doing all sorts of evil. In their hearts they know and will give an account. Pray for them, proclaim and walk in life before them.

The Fruit of the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil brings death. A tempting succulent fruit that kills. Beware for it is full of pride, arrogance, envy, strife and even murder. For when we have eaten of that tree of death, how easy it is to call those in error names.

Ask God for wisdom. And proclaim the Tree of Life for that is what conquers death. Offer those around you a bite from the sweet fruit of life.

GALATIONS 5 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Go win souls, not debate.

IS love in you?

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Yes, it's Valentine's Day. The day you send sweets to those you're in love with. But the greater question - Is not who are you in love with but is Love in you.

Christ in us. God is love. Is God in you? Have you opened the door to your heart and asked Jesus to enter? While we can in the flesh be nice and sweet, it is only when we are infused with the power of the Holy Spirit that we can truly love.

Love is not warm fuzzy feelings. Love is a strong tower. A might fortress. An Almighty God who smiles at the smallest of babes, rescues His children out of miry pits, and destroys the works of the devil.

Love gives you the power to love your family. Even more, love gives you the power to forgive and love your enemies.

But don't attempt it on your own.

Ask the Lord of Love into your heart and watch Him change you from the inside out. Discover the difference between the act of love and being love.

Don't look to feel the love, look to be the love of God a dying world needs.

This Valentine's Day - begin it by asking Jesus into your heart. You won't regret it. You'll never be the same.

Remember the Love

Yes, I am a day early. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. But everyday is a day to remember the love.

The greatest love - God's love

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Consider giving back to the Lord. Thank Him. Live His Love out by honoring those around you.

Remember the love.

Bird of a feather ...

Look at all those birds.  The ground and sky become black with them. At times you can see them in the sky flying as one.

Here to is encouragement and warning.

What kind of people are you hanging around with?

Are they those who draw you into fellowship with the Lord, or those who lead you away from the paths of righteousness?

I know we hear in Christian circles how Jesus hung out with the sinners. True, he did go to the tax man's house, talked to the woman at the well, and freed the woman caught in adultery. BUT think about who he hung out with.

His chosen disciples. His friends. Those who sought after the Lord. Sought Him.

I'm not saying treat anyone with disdain. Handle all that cross your path with grace and mercy. But don't shy from the truth.c

And find those friends who are on a spiritual journey with you. don't forsake the assembly of the saints.

Be wise in these last days.

The Word

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Why read the Bible?

Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Hebrews 4:12

12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart

The Word is life. Read it often.

But it's boring, and I don't know where to start.

1. Pray before you open your Bible. Ask the Holy Spirit for ears to hear and eyes to see. And for guidance. Also ask for wisdom. God promises to give wisdom when it is asked for.

2. Always bring a pen and paper and journal what the Lord shows you - and He will show  you things.

3. The book of John is always a good place to start.

4. Also  you can read one proverb for each day of the month. There are 31 one of them so grab the one for today - Proverbs 11

5. To add to the Proverb, you can read the Psalms - start with the Psalm of the day -11 for today and add 30.  So today the 11th you would read
Psalm 11, 41, 71, 101, 131  And Proverbs 11

6. There are also numerous read the Bible in a year programs that will have you reading passages out of the New and Old Testaments.

7. Know this - that any part of the Word of God you read will benefit you.

8. Grab hold of the verses that speak to your heart. Memorize one, chew on it throughout the day and ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand.

God's Word is alive and for us to live we need to partake of His Word.

Dive in, enjoy, be refreshed, encouraged, receive instruction, hope, and faith.  God's Word has what you need.

Keep the Faith

And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful?
how is it that ye have no faith?

Running scared indicates an empty faith tank.

So, how do we get that faith and keep it?

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.  Rom 10:17

Guard what you hear and read
Question everything, testing to see if it lines up with the Word of God
Test the spirits.

Doubt is a faith killer
Where do doubts come from?
the enemy, unbelievers, believers not walking in the spirit
head knowledge of good and evil.

Belief is the opposite of doubt

Nourish your faith by
Reading the Word of God
Speaking it aloud
Hearing your Father in heaven
Time spent in the secret place

Belief is not an act of the will
it is an act of the Spirit
A gift      Eph 2:8

Stir up your faith
Believe
and stand.

The Good Life Plan

He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour. Proverbs 21:21

According to the dictionary: righteousness - morally upright without guilt or sin.

Only way for us to be righteous is by the blood of Jesus. He is our righteousness.
Only through his blood are we without guilt or sin.
His Righteousness, His mercy.

Dandelion Puff in Strong Wind

I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Oh, the power in the Word of God. Jesus - the Word of God
Feast on Him. Eat the Word and let it go down deep to nourish you in
your most inward parts.

Nourish your faith. Read, Speak, And Hear His Word
For it is truth. It is Faithful.

In this crazed world, do you feel like a dandelion in a gale force wind?
That at any moment you are about to be undone.

Take heart. Feast on this scripture.
Love the Lord and See Who He is.

The Lord is my strength. The God of all creation is more than capable to care for us.
He is our strength. Our Rock
A Fortress to run too.
My Salvation
My High Tower.

So if the wind is rising
Problems on the rise and fear shaking you.
Read His Word
Take it in

The Truth will set you Free

Ear Check

Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

Well, I don't know about you, but at times
my ears seem to be stopped up by the cares of the world.

When my faith is faltering, the storms are raging
and huge waves of destruction rise up to destroy me,
I need to remember that

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

So I am doing a major ear cleaning.
Swabbing out the garbage of this world
and listening to the Word of God.

Listening to life.

How often have we sat in church and were bored?
It could well be that we need our ears checked rather than Pastor checked.
Are you listening with ears turned to life?
Or ears turned to your flesh and death?

Choose you this day
choose life and listen
