Consider

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

How awesome is our God
That He placed each star in its place
Set the moon and the sun
on their schedule.

Yet He knows me
and you

even counts the number of hairs on our heads
and watches over us

Consider how he cares for us
Consider the great I AM

A Nation Falls

Philippians 3:20 [NASB]
For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;

My spirit within me is grieved today.
We have lost our bearings
our compass

Without a revelation of Jesus in
the hearts of the people
we are undone.

God knows
He is not surprised
although I am sure He is saddened.

But maybe it is to reinforce
in our minds that this is not our home.
We are citizens of heaven even now.

So we must live as citizens of heaven
With the Lord's work foremost in our mind.
Abide in the Lord and let His word abide in you

Pray that we stay above the ruckus
and cling to the pure Word of God.
Going about the Father's business

Not looking to the right or the left
but to Him.

Sonshine!

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Fear Not
The Lord is our light in a dark world

He will see us through
FEAR NOT

HE is our strength and shield
There is none t fear so long as
we abide in His light

FEAR NOT
Though the world grow dark
For we have a light that shall
never go out
BUT
is always there to
save us.

FEAR NOT

For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

As the world tumbles into chaos and those
who think they have the answers
conjure up their one world schemes

Stay close to Jesus.
Your soul is more valuable
than anything the world has to offer.

I love the psalms where it says
the nations make their plans
but God laughs

Rejoice and Fear Not
For the Lord is with us

The real question is are we with Him.

But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.

His Glory is all around
for those who have eyes to see.
Look for it,
Seek it out
Rejoice at His glory

And know that soon
All the earth will see His glory

God is good
Almighty
and full of Glory

Sing unto the Lord

Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name Jah, and rejoice before him.

The Lord loves our praise
Loves our singing of His goodness.
And He is worthy!

Let your heart sing
Sing new songs to Him
Sing hymns and worship Him.

Let your spirit break forth in song!

First Things

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Simply put
GOD is to be First!

I was with a friend the other day
and I started laughing.
The thought of how many books do we read
how much preaching do we listen to,
how much do we research and study the things of God

BUT
miss this simple commandment.

ALL
hinges on this simple idea.

IF life were a flow chart
all problems would start with this sequence
Is GOD First in your life?

If the answer is no,
go back to square one.

GOD IS FIRST

God IS

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

God's fingerprints are everywhere you look
The sky in its awesome expanse
The stars set just so

The flowers and animals
majestic mountains
bubbling rivers
and giant oaks

Take time to see
God is awesome
HE IS

Forgiveness

Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye

How easy we forget that the cornerstone of our faith is forgiveness.
We might cling to our own need
but to extend that forgiveness to others
often gets lost in the hectic world
of rights.

As Christians, we have the right to be forgiven
if we forgive others.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Today, forgive others
so you may be forgiven.

Amazing God

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God. For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

God is amazing

We lose sight of that and
soon we begin to drift with the waves
of the worldly ways.

But consider
He is
The Great I AM

Before all
Maker of all

HE is the Alpha and the Omega

Nothing exists that He didn't create
The smallest particle to the largest mountain.
HE IS AMAZING

Marvel at the Great I AM
Be amazed at our
Amazing God

Renewing Your Mind

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Thoughts, Attitudes
They set  your day
Set your mood

So how do you renew your mind?

God's word is truth
the world is constantly bombarding
our minds with lies.

Contrary to God's word
the world teaches to look out for yourself.
The sky is falling
FEAR

But what does God's word say?
For every circumstance you find yourself in
Search the word of God
Pray for His revelation and truth
And proclaim it

Speak God's truth aloud
and renew your mind.
Your thoughts and attitude will follow
and you will be transformed.

Words

Proverbs 15:1

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Like angry storm clouds, angry words stir up a tempest.
Words are so proud
once they are let loose
there is no calling them back.

Sound travels never stopping
our words go
and never stop.

Scary thought if they are not righteous words.

The Bible says we will give account for every word we utter.
Makes me want to put tape over my mouth.

Even more reason to know the Word of God
And speak His Words

That will keep us out of trouble.

God is good
His Word is true.

The Secret Place

“O my dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the secret place of the steep pathway, Let me see your form, Let me hear your voice; For your voice is sweet, And your form is lovely.”

Find a place of peace and get alone with the Lord.
Our lover. Out God who desires to be with us.
Who desires to walk with us
Talk with us
Don't
Forsake Him.

Take time to be alone with the Lord
to sit at His feet and love Him
To worship Him
To Hear
Him

To learn and lean on Him
To listen
To love
to live.

Glory

Sing the glory of His name; Make His praise glorious.

Praise the Lord!
You don't have to look far to see the handiwork of God.

Look around,
See His thumbprints
On the snow-capped mountains
the cerulean sea
verdant forests
and
flowers of gold.

On majestic deer
wild horses
baby lambs
and lions.

Clouds of white
sunsets of pink and purple
stars that glisten
moon that shines

All because God ordains it.
Created it.
Watches over it.

HE IS

Give Glory to the Great I AM

A GOOD WORD

James 3:8-10
8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father;
and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing.
My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

This verse is so powerful if we but put it into practice and ponder on its meaning.
Unfortunately how true it is. And it shouldn't be so.
How quick derogatory words fly out of our mouths at the least provocation.
And how seldom do words of kindness, encouragement, goodness, love and hope
Come forth.

So today
Beef up your vocabulary.
Find 10 good words you can say about or too others.
Even to those who we don't like.

Here are some of mine:
  1. Good
  2. Wonderful
  3. Delight
  4. Kind
  5. Pleasant
  6. My Pleasure
  7. Honor
  8. Encourage
  9. I applaud your...
  10. I appreciate

Safe in the Arms

What better place to be? Wrapped in the Father's arms.
Safe and secure.

Our Father in heaven wants to wrap His arms around us.
And HE does.
When we allow Him too.

Read the 23rd Psalm
And know that you are safe in His arms.

Psalm 23

23 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

Happy Trails

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

Each day is new. Each day is made for us.
Walk in the ways that He has made for you.
Look and listen for His Word
See what the Lord has done.

If the cares of life have dragged you down
Stop, Look and Listen.
Perhaps you have wandered from the paths of righteousness.
Perhaps you are missing what He has for you
For the Lord is good
And His desire is good toward you.

But there is an enemy and our own lust for the world
That take us down paths away from the Lord
Guard your steps.

And take a fresh breath.
The day is new
Seek what He has for you

Be blessed and a blessing.

God is my Strength!

It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

How amazing is our God.
He gives us the strength to follow Him
And He makes the way perfect.

So, why do we feel so weak and lost?

God is the God of firsts.
First thing in the day go to Him
Let Him instruct you for the day.
Trust Him

And when you feel weak
Proclaim the truth
He is our strength.

Be Strong

In the Lord!

Justice

But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Justice
God is Holy, Just, and Merciful.

Some ask how can bad things happen to good people.
IT is a result of the the first man's unwise choice.
To deny God's command
Adam brought death to
all his children
to come.

Adam's choice
God's justice

And in God's mercy
He sent His only begotten Son
Jesus

To pay for Adam's wrong choice
Jesus chose to give His life for us
But Jesus' death didn't end there
For he rose from the dead
Giving eternal life to all
who believe on Him.

God is Just and Holy
and
Merciful

Absolutely!

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness;
but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Today, many would say that truth is relative and there are no absolutes.
Well, that is absolutely not true.
The world we live in is full of examples.

2+2=4  not five, not three.
To say there are no absolutes is foolishness.
And if we are left up to the task of defining what truth is
then we are running on ignorance which leads to foolishness.

God is good. God is love.
Those are absolute truths.
How do I know?
They are in the Bible.

The Word of God is our guide.
His Word does not change because of public opinion.
We can count on it, trust it, know it.

Man is absolutely lost and condemned from birth.
God did not leave us there though,
He provided a way back to fellowship with God.
Through belief in Jesus
we are born again and given eternal life.

That is the absolute truth.

Read the Word and find out the truth.

Framework

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.
And the evening and the morning were the first day.

In the beginning, God set the framework of our days.
From the evening and the morning,
He named day.
And from the beginning, the Lord numbered our days
knowing even the number of hairs on our heads.

What comfort to know that we are known by Him.
The Creator of all
Knows you!

How amazing is that. How wonderful and yet fearful that is
For He knows our coming and going.
There is no place to hide from Him
No deeds are hidden from Him
He knows

And because He knows us
He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus of Nazareth
to take the punishment of the Sin of the world upon
His sinless back and be nailed to a tree
Jesus took the curse to set us free.

You are known by Him
Your deeds are known by Him
By Him You are set free from the curse
If you believe.

Do you believe on Jesus?
Do you know that He is the sinless Son of God?
Have you been washed by His blood?

Seek Him while He  may be found.
There is a framework
A beginning and an end.

Seek the Lord now
While there is time
For the door is yet open
But only for a time.

There is a framework.
Be Wise and seek the Lord.
Now.

Mindful

Matthew 16:23 (NKJV)
But He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.”

Read this verse today. Not sure I ever noticed the part - you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.  The KJV uses the word savourist instead of mindful.

So, how highly do I value the things of God? That is the question. Where do I get my knowledge? Do I go to what I think is right or what God thinks?

I don't want to have my mind full of my ideas. I want the mind of Christ.

For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him?”
But we have the mind of Christ.

Peter didn't want to hear that Jesus would be killed and taken from them. A noble thought, but one that is not in line what must happen. I would have been right there with Peter. And then isn't it ironic that this man who stood valiantly declaring he wouldn't let it happen, turned from Jesus when he was taken and denied that he ever knew Jesus. Not once but three times.

Are we any different? I am not. Though my words may be noble and even sound right, I know that many times I am not mindful of the things of God. I am more mindful of the things of this world.

I look at my country. The great USA and see it is coming apart at the seems and headed for disaster. I rail, rant, and come against those in power. And when I do, I my mind is full of the things of this world.

Do I not understand that God will have His way and it is always right? That perhaps my country must fall to rise again. That souls hang in the balance and maybe many will not turn unless thing happen.

No, many times I have not been mindful of Christ.

Time to walk in the Spirit and take on the mind of Christ. Emptying my mind of the way of the world, I come to the Lord, arms raised and ask forgiveness and His wisdom.

Be mindful of the things of God.

Love Commanded

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

I like that He commanded His love toward us.
Love is a force.
A strong power that overrides fear.
That saves those perishing
And brings them life.

Love didn't demand that we clean up first.
Love was commanded by God
To rescue us.
Save us

But at the cost of Jesus' life.

Good News
Jesus rose from the dead
And we with Him.

No longer does death hold power over us
For we are saved
We, through Christ, have eternal life.
By the Command of God's love toward us.

Rejoice!

Saved!

For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.

Saved! Salvation!

What does that mean?

According to Merriam-Webster:
Salvation is deliverance from the power and effects of sin.

Because of Jesus death,
and if we believe on Him,
we are made heirs to the kingdom with Christ.

Jesus is the first-born of the dead
We are his brothers and sisters in Christ.

Jesus is Life

In Christ we live and have our being.

Friday, April 5, 2013

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy;

at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

I love to go down paths to see where they might go. Especially the overgrown, unused paths. What secrets they hold, mysteries to be revealed, and joy of the unexpected wonders to find.

How about you? Are you on a highway choked with crowds? Or have you chosen a path of seclusion to meet the Lord? The Path Maker. The One who guides us on the paths we should go.

Choose the narrow way. You won't find many on it. BUT it has the promise of life.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Today, seek the narrow way. Cry out to the Lord and seek His direction and walk on the narrow path. Be ready for wonders, be ready for Him.

How Awesome is Our God!

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

How amazing is our God! He not only created everything,
seeing to every detail and making a delight the various flowers and animals.
But He fashions us.
Died for us,
And
Not leaving us
He rose from the dead
And is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Interceding for us.
Having won our salvation
taking the keys of hell and death from Satan
That we who believe might have eternal life with the Lord.

No other God has done this. They are either stone or wood
Dead gods from dead things
or they were mere men
who have returned to dust in graves.

NO
We serve the living the God
The author and finisher of our faith!
Our God is alive
and so are we in Him!

Our God is an Awesome God!!!

Feeling a Little Weak Today?

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Whenever you are feeling weak, tired, overwhelmed, remember the Lord, the Rock that is higher than we are. He is our strength. Our Refuge.

Think back to that song of innocents.
Jesus Love me

He will stay
Close beside me all the way.
Thou hast bled and died for me;
I will henceforth live for Thee.

Chorus:
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

This I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong;
They are weak but He is strong.
Jesus loves me!
Loves me still,
Tho I'm very weak and ill,
That I might from sin be free,
Bled and died upon the tree.

Jesus loves me!
He who died
Heaven's gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

Jesus loves me!

--Anna B. Warner, 1820 -1915

Jesus loves you - accept the free gift and rejoice that He loves you so !!

Betrayal

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

In this season of the Passion of the Christ. The last week of the life of Jesus before He was crucified. I look into my own heart and see betrayal. Rebellion. Oh, I don't want to, but it is there. Places in my heart and will that I have kept from Jesus and held my will over God's will.

That is nothing but betrayal from one called a Christian. Rebellion in its rawist form. I have been asking for the Lord to create in me a clean heart. And this is a large stone the Lord has dug for me to see and ask forgiveness.

Praise the Lord. Just as Paul said.

Romans 7:19

19 For the good that I would I do not:
but the evil which I would not, that I do.

Now you might ask me, a Christian, just what great evil do I do? The greatest of evils - retain my will against the will of the Lord. Rebellion. For in rebellion, the Lord can do little with me. For I am untrustworthy as long as my will reins.

Now, that is not the end. For praise the Lord, read the rest of Romans 7

20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Sin uncovered and repented of can now be cleansed by the Blood of Jesus. For though rebellion is the most grievous of sins having its root in Pride, it is rendered dead by sincere repentance and living by walking in the Spirit.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Forgive me, Lord. Help me be quick to submit to Your Will. Quick to hear Your voice.
Quick to obey.

1 Samuel 15:22

22 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

Be Strong in the Lord

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Yes, there is a devil. I give him no glory, for all glory belongs to God. But the enemy is a powerful one. Not to be made light of, not to be forgotten, and not to think more highly of him than deserved. But we do have an enemy.

Not flesh and blood that we rail at one another,

 Ephesians 6:12

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Jesus defeated the devil on the cross. Winning for all who believed in Him freedom from fear of death and the grave.

In Christ, we are victorious.  Our Lord used scripture to overcome the temptations of the evil one. We can only defeat the enemy by His Spirit and Word. Not by our might or power.

So put your armor on daily.  Be on guard against the enemies deceitful ways, and sharpen your sword - the Word of God.

Strong in the Lord

Ephesians 6:10

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

How we deceive ourselves if we think we can stand on our power alone.
No.
Through Jesus' sacrifice, we have access to the armor of God.
The helmet of salvation
Breastplate of Righteousness
Belt of truth
Sword of the Spirit
Shield of Faith

Why do we need the whole armor of God?

Ephesians 6:11

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

So start you day by putting on the armor of God.
And don't leave home without it,

What did Jesus do?

John 3:18

18 He that believeth on [Jesus] him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Jesus, the Son of God, left His throne in heaven
and came to earth. Not to condemn us
but to save us from the condemnation
we are all born into.

For the world is fallen
Sin ravaged the hearts and souls of mankind
as well as the earth.

BUT God did not leave us there
He offered the promise, the hope of eternal life
And Jesus came, born of a virgin,
Both man and God
Sinless

And Jesus defeated the devil
Took back the rule over the world
and offered salvation
to whosoever believes.

Jesus destroyed the works of the devil.
Believe on Jesus
and enter into eternal life.

Escape the condemnation
by the blood and sacrifice of the Lamb of God

The choice is yours
Choose you this day
life or death.

Ask Jesus into your heart
and become a new creation
so that you shall enter into
eternal life

The Hope of Glory
Jesus
