Time to Walk in the Spirit

Yesterday at church, we sang a song about asking the Holy Spirit to fall on us. There are a lot of songs like that. And we do need to be filled with the Spirit continually, but what I heard in my spirit was the word - walk.

Here in the USA, we don't have to worry about if we will eat or not, most of us have a home, a car, and stuff. Yet we cry out to the Lord to fill us.

And I think He honors that prayer, but it could be that that filling is just one step in front of us.

Like the children of Israel, He gave them the Manna from heaven, but they had to move to gather it each morning. They couldn't save it but had to get it new each day.

Could it be all we need is that one step of faith? To move out and walk in the Spirit and the falling and filling of the Spirit will come? But to sit and ask for more when we are stuffed with what we need will lead to stagnation.

It's time to get up and walk. Use what we know. Start with a small thing. Ask the Lord how to love your family. Put others in front of your needs. Hold the tongue when a smart remark is ready to slap someone. Be gentle when your flesh wants to be harsh.

Galatians 5:23-25
23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Take the first step. The Lord will see you through.

Psalm 34:8
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
