And that's the Truth!

Truth.
John 18:38
Pilate saith unto him, What is truth?

And truth was standing in front of him. But like Pilate, many don't recognize truth. Many accept the modern idea that everyone has their own truth.

Sad, because if that were true, the world would be chaos.

Jesus is the Word and Word became flesh

John 1 1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The Bible, the written word of God, is our compass. A compass to lead people to the wonders of a loving God.

Wisdom to tell us how to live.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Have you read the Bible? Studied it?

Dig into the Word of God. As you sit down, ask the Holy Spirit to read it with you. He is our teacher. And be prepared to have the eyes of your heart opened.

  • Did you know archaeologists of today study the Bible to find ancient cities?
  • God caused an ax head to float in the river. 2 Kings 4:6
  • When animals first had fear of man. After the flood - read Genesis
  • Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided Gen 10:25
  • Psalm 22 describes the crucifixion of Christ long before there were crucifixions
Find a reading schedule that fits your time and commit to reading the Word of God. A new year is coming and it would be a good time to dive into God's manual for our lives.

Reading the Word

Psalm 119:18
Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

1 Corinthians 2:13
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Read the Bible.

We all know that and even try to. But how often does it become just words? Boring even, especially if you are reading in the begats.

AND then, there are the times when we read over a verse and it lodges in our hearts. We KNOW what it says for us specifically. As if the Lord wrote it with this day and moment in mind.

Life. Alive. It is a living Word. Jesus, God in the flesh, the Word of God. Come to bring us the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

AS you sit down to read the Word, ask Holy Spirit to open your eyes. Teach what the Word says, and place it in your heart.

Memorize scripture that speaks to you, meditate on the Word of God. Let it sink down into the deep parts of your soul and spirit. Let it bring life to you.

Read the Bible, wash in the Word of life, and revel in His Goodness.
